Zinc, aluminum, and their alloy coatings prevent corrosion on steel or iron in most environments including atmospheric, salt- and freshwater immersion, and high-temperature.
Aluminum coatings are frequently used in marine environments.
Corrosion protection at temperatures as high as 660 C (1220 F).
Zinc and zinc-aluminum alloy coatings have been shown to prevent marine fouling and the significant attachment and fouling by zebra mussels on steel substrates.
Prevent or reduce slip hazards. Aluminum thermal spray coatings have been used successfully on metal substrates to prevent corrosion and impart non-skid properties because of greater hardness and roughness. By lowering air pressure the deposition of larger spray particles can be produced therefore deposting a rougher surface.
Coating applications can be found in industries such as pulp and paper mills, marine and many others.
